The Reggae Boyz of Jamaica intend to use
a confirmed friendly against Kenya set for Wednesday 25 August 2012 as a shape up for two
2014 World Cup qualifiers against the fancied US, the first of which will be on
7 September 2012 and the next four days
According to jamaicaobserver.com, Jamaica had approached Liberia for a friendly but have since settle on Kenya for the tie set to be played in Rentschler in the state capital of Hartford, Connecticut, US.
Prior to facing Kenya, Jamaica will take on El Salvador in another friendly on 15 August 2012.
Contractual matters have been finalized
- The match between the 63rd-ranked Jamaicans and the 125th-rated Kenya has received the approval from US Soccer, plus all contractual matters have been finalized, JFF boss Captain Horace Burrell said as quoted by the Jamaican portal
However, with the game falling off the FIFA reserved date for international friendly, both Kenya and Jamaica will not have their top notch players as their respective clubs will have no obligation to release them.
