KeMU unamused by walk-over

KeMU

On Sunday 16 September, five provincial league matches were played in the Upper Eastern region.

On the day, leaders Kambakia Christian Centre [KCC] handed Kithirune a 1-0 defeat, as Taqwa demolished Kathanga 5-0.

At the Maua Stadium, Maua beat Kathanthatu 2-0, while the match between Menwe and Scorpion Githongo ended on a 1-1 draw.

Others

In the other match of the day Kenya Methodist University [KeMU] were awarded a walk-over, based on a 2-0 scoreline, after Mitunguu failed to show up for the match.

However, KeMU were not flattered by the result, saying that it cost them a chance to drive their goal-difference deep into the positives.

- Kemu fans led by one of their avid lady fans, known only as Rhoda were four goals from the match, Football Kenya Federation’s Upper Eastern Branch Secretary General Ken Rungu told Futaa.com.

Standings

After the matches, KCC, Taqwa and Maua top the league’s standings, while Mitunguu, Kisima United and Imofinja sit at the bottom.
