Edwin Mwaura scored with a long shot in the 70th minute as KCB beat Western Stima with a solitary goal at the Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday 30 September 2012.
First half
Western Stima dictated the first half but never found the back of the net as KCB defended resolutely trying to beat Stima on the counter in most occasions to no avail, first half ending in a barren draw.
Both teams made changes in the second half in a bid to salvage something from the game; Western Stima Former AFC Leopards midfielder Ramadhan Balala came out for Ali Bhai, Isaac Omore coming in for the ineffective Kevin Oluoch while KCB rested Elvis Ayany for Michael Oyando.
The changes seemed to work in favour of the Bankers as they now possessed the ball more and seemed dangerous when going forward. Edwin Mwaura lashed in a long shot in the 70th minute that beat Western Stima custodian Ben Mandela, game ending 1-0 in favour of the Bankers.
Table
After the result, KCB is eighth with 33 points from 26 matches while Western Stima is seventh with 36 points having played the same number of matches.
