Tusker Premier League (TPL) giants Gor Mahia FC has made an undertaking to see that no ugly scenes will mar their Sunday 27 October encounter with reigning league champions Tusker FC at the Nairobi City Stadium.
More police
According to vice chairman Faiz Ochieng, the club has enlisted the services of a bigger number of police than in previous matches while the ticket handlers, security firm Wells Fargo is also expected to ensure safety of the fans and teams.
Speaking to futaa.com, Faiz
urged the team’s fans to show up for the game in good time to avoid the rush
experienced in past games and assured that all the gates will be opened in good
time.
Turning point
-The security for the game is guaranteed; this is a high profile game – to us a turning point for the season so we are not taking any chances. We have engaged a bigger number of police than before and we also expect things to be smooth since Wells Fargo will be in charge.
-We are thus calling of our fans to come in numbers and early enough to avoid unnecessary commotions and we will also open all gates in good time to ensure nothing goes wrong on the day, he informed futaa.com.
A win for Gor Mahia will take them to the summit of the 16 team log and will put them in pole position to win their first league title in over a decade.
