Sofapaka and Kenyan international defender Eugene Asike recently took part in trials with Swedish second tier side IF Brommapojkarna and could be on his way there early next year, a move the Sofapaka president Elly Kalekwa says he will give his blessings.
Pleased with the player
The defender impressed at the trials and Kalekwa, speaking to futaa.com said Sofapaka will not stand in the player’s way as the Swedish club had already made contact saying they were pleased with the player.
The Congolese magnate confirmed that the two clubs’ representatives will open negotiations soon over Asike’s possible move next year but added that whatever is agreed will have to be a good deal for the player.
Open discussions soon
-The club was impressed by Eugene in the trial period and we expect to start discussions soon because their transfer period is early next year. If all goes well I will not be an obstacle in the player’s move.
-However, if it happens, it will have to be a good one for him because he is still a young and very talented player who needs a lot of guidance, Kalekwa said.
Asike has been among the Tusker Premier League (TPL) revelations this season after sealing the move from KCB.
