Sofapaka president Elly Kalekwa is purring at the new found confidence espoused by his charges after the President’s Cup romp on Saturday 4 August which saw the 2009 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions wallop 2010 champions Ulinzi Stars 3 – 0 at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani.
Seven goals
The result, which saw the team qualify to set up a third round meeting with
Mahakama in the cup competition, ensured Batoto
Ba Mungu register seven goals in two matches and Kalekwa hopes that
persists.
Speaking to futaa.com, the president expressed his belief that the team is now more confident as compared to earlier in the second leg when the players struggled to get results going their way.
Confidence
-It was a good outing on Saturday and I should admit I like the new found confidence the boys have shown in the last two matches. I hope that they will continue in that stride because Ulinzi Stars is not a small team and getting such a result is not easy, hesaid.
Sofapaka managed just one point in their first three matches of the second leg but turned out in style to fire four past Thika United away and the Ulinzi Stars results was enough proof that the team is shaking off the earlier struggles.
