Kakamega Homeboyz are happy to have breathing space in the FKF division one Zone B promotion race.
The log leaders beat fellow Western Kenya side Nzoia United 2-0 to take a step closer to promotion to the Kenyan top flight on Saturday 29 September 2012 . It was even better news as rivals Nakuru AllStars lost to Finlays earlier in the day.
Head coach Fred Serenge was elated at the way things panned out and says they will work hard to retain their position at the top.
Breathing space
- Now importantly, we have breathing space in the title race which is very important.
- Our rivals lost and we won, so we have a clear advantage which we hope to cement in the coming weeks, he told Futaa.com.
Homeboyz are three points ahead of Finlays and six ahead of the AllStars in the race for the sole Tusker Premier League place at the end of the season.
