Thika United winger Francis Kahata says he is delighted after making his senior for Kenya in the 1-2 defeat to South Africa in an international friendly match, on Tuesday 16 October, at Nyayo National Stadium.
Kahata was replaced on the hour mark by Racing Genk’s forward Ayub Timbe Masika, who’s also making his debut.
Malmo FF’s hit-man Tokelo Rantie broke the deadlock in the first half before Dennis Oliech leveled the score with a penalty kick in the 72nd minute.
Memorable occasion
However, Bafana Bafana retook the lead three minutes after Christopher Wekesa’s own goal.
-Since it was my first game for the senior team, I am impressed with my general performance.
-I am very happy to have played with experienced players like Victor [Mugubi] and Dennis [Oliech] in the same team. Despite the defeat, we gelled very well and we all had a fantastic time, said Kahata to futaa.com.
Apart from the Kenya U23 winger, the other players who made their debut yesterday include Eugene Asike, Edwin Wafula and Wesley Kemboi.
