Former Manchester City winger Adam Johnson, currently plying his trade at Sunderland, has warned young players on jumping at the opportunity to join the English Premier League champions.
Not ideal
Johnson, 25, spent two and a half seasons at the Etihad Stadium after leaving Middlesbrough and admits the size of the team at Eastlands can only limit a young player to being a squad member thus not ideal for a developing footballer.
Squad member
-Now, if I was a young lad, I wouldn't go to City. It is excellent when a club like City come for you; it is hard to turn down. But you don't actually play for the champions - you're a squad member, which is totally different.
-It's not that you're not good enough, it's just that the likes of Yaya Toure are going to play ahead of you, no matter what you do, he was quoted by sportinglife.com.
