Western Stima Chairman Mr. Laban Jobita is bewildered at the turn of events after the Saturday 15 September Tusker Premier League (TPL) encounter pitting his team against league leaders AFC Leopards at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
Jobita disappointed
A section of the losing team’s fans who demanded an explanation from the team for the result on the day, a 2-1 loss to Western Stima, engaged police in ugly scenes after the game leaving scores injured, among them senior police officers, which left Jobita a very disappointed man.
The Cchairman, speaking to futaa.com, labeled the handful who took part in the ugly scenes ‘criminals’ who know nothing about football and called on all stakeholders in Kenyan football to work for peace in and out of the stadia.
Criminals
-I am so disappointed at what ensued after the game; those are not AFC fans, they are criminals who should be kept out of our stadia for good. Real and knowledgeable fans expect three outcomes in a game: a draw, loss or win, I don’t think these ones thought of that.
-Furthermore, what business do they have blocking the team after a loss? We should all work towards fostering peace in the stadium and that could be well achieved if the fans played their role to perfection, he said.
Four fans were arrested after the melee and were taken to court on Monday 17 September.
