Nairobi District League [Zone C] winner Intercity stepped-up their preparations for the weekend’s play-offs with a 1-2 win over Impala, in a friendly match, on Wednesday 17 October, at Impala Grounds.
Prolific Herman Waki met Charles Otieno’s corner-kick in the 11th minute to put the visitors in front with an excellent left-foot strike which flew past Impala’s keeper into the far net.
Injury-time strike
Seven minutes later, Charles Jomba setted-up Otieno who raced through the defenders to scored the second goal for Frank Okoth trained side.
However, Impala pulled a goal back in the stoppage time through Tony Baraza.
High spirits
Speaking to futaa.com, Intercity Coach Franck Okoth said that he’s looking forward to tough matches over the weekend and urged his troops to play well as they always do.
-We have outclassed some of the toughest teams in the county [Nairobi] and those are good signs as we head into the play-offs.
-I expect the boys to carry the same fighting spirit into the weekend matches, said Okoth.
