Intercity FC is through to the semifinals of the ongoing Koth Biro Tournament after seeing off their Thursday 10 January 2012 opponents Hamza Heroes 2-0 in a thrilling match played at the Pumwani grounds.
Ballack Abdi opened the scoring for Intercity in the first minute a scoreline they maintained into the halftime mark. The second half proved better as they managed to stretch their lead with a second goal through Kevin Odhiambo following a freekick that was spilled by Hamza keeper.
Poly through as well
In the other quarterfinal match played later in the day, Kenya Poly beat Shauri Moyo 2-0. Francis Ochollah netted the opener in the 24th minute in the first half before Tony Odhiambo added the second in the 60th minute.
In the semis, Intercity will play the winner between Kiambiu Warriors and Eastleigh who will face off on Friday 11 January 2013 at 1600Hrs while Kenya Poly awaits the winner between Opitos and Pumwani which will be staged on Saturday 12 January 2013 at 1600Hrs.
The semifinals is set for Sunday 13 January 2013.
