Inter held by battling Brescia

Inter Milan paid for missing a series of chances as Andrea Callacioco netted five minutes from time for hosts Brescia in a pulsating 1-1 draw in the Italian Serie A on Friday night.

Inter remain four points behind leaders AC Milan after Callacioco canceled out Samuel Etoos 18th minute opener.

The reigning Italian champions will also be grateful to goalkeeper Julio Cesar who denied the home side a dramatic winner from the penalty spot.

Multiple red cards

Inter substitute Ivan Cordoba was sent off for hauling down Eder inside his own area, but Caracciolo hit a tame penalty to the keepers right and Cesar dived to swat round his post and give Inter a share of the spoils.

Caracciolo was then sent off deep into stoppage time for kicking the ball away having being booked earlier on for dissent as both teams ended with 10 men in a frantic finish to the night.

AC Milan will move seven points clear of their city neighbors if they can defeat Bari at the San Siro on Sunday.

Tough Assignment

The reigning European champions now head to Germany to try retrieve a 1-0 home loss at Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Tuesday.

Kenyan International McDonald Mariga who will be among the traveling party to Munich was an unused substitute against Brescia.
