Kenyan midfielder Amos Chona Ekhalie, was used as a very late substitute as IFK Mariehamn picked up an impressive 1-3 win over VPS on Sunday 23 September 2012.
The game played at the Hietalahden Jalkapallo Stadium saw IFK carry a 0-1 lead at the break with a goal scored at the half hour mark by Mattias Wiklof at the half hour mark.
Wiklof completed his braced 12 minutes into the restart to double the scores.
Tommy Wirtanen made it 0-3 on 72 minutes for the team to take a commanding lead.
Two minutes later VPS got a goal from Steven Morrissey that only turned out to be a consolation.
Chona, 24 earned his game 25 in the top flight Veikkausliiga when he was introduced in the 90th minute as a substitute for Alingsås born midfielder Robin Östlind.
Now with 45 points from 27 games, IFK Mariehamn remains fourth in the 12 team log. Beaten VPS retains seventh spot and still stuck on 39 points after the loss.
Both teams trail leaders Inter Turku who with 50 points carry a two point lead over second placed HJK
