From about noon on Saturday 29 September 2012, Finlays Horticulture sampled Division One Zone B league leadership after surprising host Nakuru AllStars 1-2 at the Afraha Stadium.

By hitting the 72 points mark from 31 games, Finlays relegated Kakamega Homeboyz to second spot on goal difference.

However, three hours later, Finlays were off the top and down to second after Homeboyz nailed Nzoia United 2-0 in a game played at the Bukhungu Stadium from 1300hrs concluded.

A goal in each half was enough to see the Premier League hopefuls to the top of the log with 75 points from 32 games.

Former Premier League players lifted Homeboyz with former Western Stima player Mike Khaduli netting the first on 18 minutes and former Oserian player getting the second on 50 minutes.
