High profile Provincial tie ends even

Misc

After all talk in the past few days, a South Coast Provincial tie between Shanzu United and SS Assad ended in a barren draw.

Swung

The thriller played at Mzimuni was watched by one of the largest crowds in Ukunda including FKF South Coast Branch Secretary Evan Mwachia.

Both teams displayed champagne football as the ball swung from one end to another and despite attempts at each others goal mouth the match ended in a barren draw.

Bouyed by fanatical home support, Assad tried to break the deadlock their goal sorcerer Tumaini Musa but he fired blanks upfront.

High balls

Shanzu United squandered three God given chances when their leading scorer Sunday Ngala hit wide with only the goal keeper to beat.

After the match Shanzu United coach James Ochieng Sewe was contended with the results.

-SS Assad were lucky we missed several chances. They are athletic and played high balls which forced us to defend in the end’ said Ochieng.

Knocked down

Following the results Shanzu United maintained the podium of the log with 35 matches from 17 games.

SS Assad is placed second on the podium with 31 points but with two matches in hand.

In another Zone A match played today at Tononoka ground, Wanayuki knocked down Veczular by a solitary goal.
