Gor Mahia vice chairman Faiz Ochieng’ has warned the Tusker Premier League [TPL] organizers against any plans to shift the venue for their next league match against title rivals Tusker.
The match scheduled on Sunday 28 October, at City Stadium is being billed as the title decider and unconfirmed reports indicate that it’s likely to be staged at Nyayo National Stadium.
Home ground
However, according to Ochieng’, any plans to change the venue will not be welcomed and as the home team they [Gor] have the rights to decide the match venue.
-I have received numerous calls from our fans asking me if there are any plans to shift our next game against Tusker to Nyayo National Stadium, said Ochieng’ to futaa.com.
-Although we have not received an official communication from TPL about the same, I want to say that we will not accept those changes at all.
-City Stadium is our registered home ground and by that I mean we don’t expect any changes. All our remaining home matches will be held at City Stadium and our fans should not panic at all, he added.
Gor are placed second on the table, two points below leaders Tusker.
