Gor Mahia’s Ugandan born forward Dani Sserunkuma’s love for Kenya can’t be more pronounced after he declared his desire to switch nationalities after courting much success in the Kenyan top flight, the Tusker Premier League (TPL).
Sserunkuma, signed at City Stars in the 2011 season, has since made the move to Gor Mahia where he is the team’s leading scorer and he says it is his wish is to play for the Kenyan national team once he manages to switch nationalities.
Speaking to futaa.com, the diminutive Ugandan revealed that he had held discussions with his agent over the possibility of a nationality switch and is just crossing his fingers hoping it happens soon enough.
-I was talking about it with my agent and he promised to help me out because I want to change nationalities and maybe one day feature for Harambee Stars. I know there is still a possibility that Uganda might come calling though it has been long and I haven’t talked to anyone there.
-I hope my agent succeeds soon enough, he said.
Sserunkuma won recognition at the Footballer of the Year Awards gala last season and was feted as the second runners up in the New Player of the Year category on Wednesday 7 December 2011.
