Gor Mahia captain Jerim Onyango has posted his empathy with Tusker FC keeper Boniface Oluoch after an Oluoch howler gave Gor Mahia the three points from the league match between the two sides at the Nairobi City Stadium on Sunday 28 October.
Failed to hold
Oluoch, the reigning Tusker Premier League (TPL) goalkeeper of the year, failed to hold onto a Dan Sserunkuma shot in the twelfth minute and after the slip, the ball was adjudged to have crossed the line.
Jerim admits that as much as he wanted his team to win, he feels it for his opposite number and believes his fellow international will rise above the setback in the coming matches to make up for the mistake.
Bad situation
-I feel for him; it is a very bad situation when it happens to a keeper and I can just imagine how bad it makes him feel especially at this time of the season. I know how it feels – no keeper wants that to happen even if it goes out.
-Though we wanted a win, I can never wish it that way against a mate. Despite the setback I know Bonny as a great professional and no doubt he will rise above this in the coming games, he told futaa.com.
