In the wake of match fixing undertones as far as the Muhoroni Youth versus Gor mahia game is concerned, Gor Mahia vice chair Faiz Ochieng has called on all stakeholders affiliated to AFC Leopards and Tusker to keep off.
The match was initially set to be played at the Nyayo
National Stadium but after the venue was shut down for renovations, Muhoroni
picked on City Stadium, a venue where Gor has seen much success lately thus
sparking cries of match fixing.
Nothing wrong
Faiz, however, says there is nothing wrong with Muhoroni picking on City Stadium and has told all those complaining to respect the Muhoroni Youth FC executive officials’ decision to pick the venue.
-I want to pass this as a serious warning to those at AFC Leopards and Tusker that they should just keep off our game against Muhoroni. You never hear us talk about their matches so they should just leave ours alone.
Respect
-Muhoroni is the home team here, if they choose to take the game even to Mombasa we can’t object and no one has asked AFC Leopards why they are taking Mathare United to Mumias. I think they have to give the Muhoroni executive its due respect.
-No one is in the business of match fixing and if they have run out of excuses they should look for something important to do, he told futaa.com.
Muhoroni Youth had also, earlier on defended their choice of City Stadium as the venue for the game and vowed to go all out for the three points.
