Gor Mahia handed a win over AFC Leopards

Gor Mahia were awarded a walk-over after AFC Leopards failed to turn up for their scheduled Sunday 29 July Kenyan Premier League [KPL] Top Eight quarterfinal clash.

Gor Mahia players as well as the match officials made their way to the pitch but the absence of the opposing team.

The match did not kick-off as per formalities of a walk-over and after 20 minutes, on the recommendation of the Match Commissar, Paul Kaunda Gor Mahia were named the winners on account of 2-0 scoreline.

Next

Gor Mahia are now set to take meet Tusker FC in the semi-finals of the tournament.

AFC Leopards officials had been adamant that they will not make the match, for reasons primarily linked to the finances required in preparation, and they honoured their promise.

They are now set to face a minimum of KSh5million in fines linked to contractual agreements made by the KPL.
