Gor keeper named MVP

Gor Mahia keeper Jerim Frederick Onyango was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after the KPL Top 8 final played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani on Sunday 19 August 2012.

Jerim played a key role in the game to almost single handedly keep Ulinzi Stars at bay to eventually lead his side to a 2-0 win over Ulinzi Stars to emerge as the new Champions.

Jerim turned the game Gor Mahia’s way when he saved Anthony Nderitu’s penalty on 39 minutes.

Centre referee Nassur Doka pointed to the spot when Ivan Anguyo handled the ball from a corner. Jerim stretched his hand to parry the initial kick before picking himself up to clutch on to the ball to deny Ulinzi what could have turned out a winner as the game ended 0-0 after the regulation 90 minutes.

For being named MVP, Jerim was handed a Walka, an interface that allow one to watch television on the go.
