Ghanaian Star locked out of Champions League action

Ghanaian central midfielder Ali Sulley Muntari will miss Champions League action at his new club AC Milan after his name was left out of the final squad.

The former Inter Milan player who made a last minute switch from Inter Milan was highly expected to make it into the 25-man squad since he has not taken any part in this season’s tournament.

National duty

The player who is currently with national team for the Africa Cup of Nations swapped from Inter to AC Milan on a deal than will keep him at his new home till the end of the season when his contract expires.

The deal was sealed on the last day of the winter transfer window with Muntari expected to link up with the rest of the squad after the end of AFCON .

Muntari’s career has been hit by injury spells something he has admitted has had a negative impact on his career over time.

Ghana qualified for the semifinals after beating Tunisia and will now face Chipolopolo from Zambia in their match scheduled for Wednesday 8 February 2012.
