Germany dazed in Berlin

Germany found it hard to comprehend Sweden’s dramatic bounce back in their Tuesday evening World Cup qualifier match to secure a 4-4 draw at the Olympiastadion Berlin, Germany.

The hosts were leading 4-0 into the 60th minute of the match and were almost assured of clinching the victory after a show of brilliance in Berlin.

Bounce back

The Swedish side however opened their scoring spree through Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 62nd minute after an assist by Kallstrom.

Carl Lustig added the second two minutes later from yet another Kallstrom assist to leave the match open as they raided their hosts defense ruthlessly.

It was not done as Elmander and Elm canceled out Germany’s lead through brilliant strikes in the 76th and the third minute of added time.

The draw shocked the Germans who had settled for early goals only to be caught off-guard by the undying Swedish players.

Klose hit a brace [8th and 15th] for the hosts while Mertesacker and Ozil ensured the 4-0 gap in the 39th and 56th minutes.
