Unless otherwise, Division One Zone A side Gatundu Stars travel to Mombasa for a tie against Bandari on Sunday 17 June 2012 is in doubt.
Micro management
This is due to what has been termed as ‘internal issues’. A rejection on their request to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to have the game called off has also not helped matters at the club.
-Gatundu Stars risk losing the weekend match (against Bandari) due to micro management issues at the club, said a communique to futaa.com from an official at the club.
not made necessary disbursements
According to sources, the team receives cash from its principle sponsor through an official attached to Kenyan Premier League side Thika United.
It has been stated that the said official had not made necessary disbursements for the Sunday game leaving the team with no finances to hit the road to Mombasa.
‘Unavoidable circumstances’
A letter to FKF from Gatundu to have the game called off has been thrown through the window leaving the team in a precarious position of handing out three free points to Bandari.
-They requested for a call off to the game but ‘unavoidable circumstances’ is not reason enough to warrant a postponement to the game. They either honor it or lose it, said an official from FKF when futaa.com sought comment.
The Sunday game is the 19th and final first leg game for Gatundu.
