The Wednesday 3 October 2012 match in the Vodacom Premier League in Tanzania pitting arch rivals Yanga FC at home to Simba SC realised staggering Kshs 21 million in gate collections.

The amounts realised were way higher than the collections netted from the recent Nairobi derby pitting AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia. In the game, at the 60,000-seater Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani, the collections as revealed by AFC Leopards were Kshs 4,640,600.
According to in2eastafrica.com, the fans who paid up for the Yanga – Simba match, which was staged at the 60,000-seater National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, were 50,455.

The tickets for the match cost Tshs 5,000 (approx. Kshs 270) for the green seats, 7,000 (approx. Kshs 370) each for the blue ones and 10,000 (approx. Kshs 540) for the orange straight and curve seats, 15,000 (approx. Kshs 810), 20, 000 (approx. Kshs 1080) (VIP B) and 30,000 (approx Kshs 1620) for VIP C, B, and A seats respectively.
