Former Div One coach shocked by Gatusso's retirement

Okoth

After former Sofapaka midfielder Collins Gatusso Okoth, announced his resignation from the sport, his decision was met with varying responses.

Not too late

Former Soin Flourspar head Coach Andrew Munika says he was shocked by the announcement, but still hopes that Okoth will rescind his decision.

-Gattuso should not quit the world of soccer because his talent was extra ordinary, Munika told Futaa.com.

-He is a personal friend of mine and I was shocked to learn that he has decided to hang his boots.

-It’s true we have a lot of frustration in this game but my question is: where will his talent go? Will it just fade and vanish like other great kenyan football internationals?

Intervention

Munika also made a call to football Kenya Federation to address some of the issues that are leading to players leaving the game, in frustration.

-FKF should find a way of dealing with these rising issues and help save Kenyan football.

-I also hope that Gattuso changes his mind because he is still a very talented player.

On his retirement, Gutusso said he was going back to school, as he tries to chart a different career path.
