FKF vow no repeat of Oliech saga

Dennis Oliech
Football Kenya Federation chairman Sam Nyamweya has vowed to protect the interests of national team players in future.

The last couple of months have been plagued with issues regarding Harambee Stars players Dennis Oliech and McDonald Mariga.

Both players have had issues regarding allowances and refunds, as well as taking on Stars sponsors EABL over an image rights issue.

The latter case has now been forwarded to governing body FIFA for deliberation and Nyamweya is hoping that after conclusion, it is going to be the last such incident.

No complications again

-It is sad what has happened, but it was nothing we as a federation could handle.

- The thing is now to move on to other things and we have put out the case to FIFA to look at, then we see from there.

-What I can promise the likes of Oliech is that we as a federation will do our best henceforth to protect his interests from such complications ever again, Nyamweya told Futaa.com.

The remarks may be in futility, as Oliech has announced his retirement from the national team.
