All Tusker Premier League (TPL) referees and assistant referees together with 16 others from the second tier leagues are among 65 officials shortlisted by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for a pre FIFA referees seminar to be held on Wednesday 7 November at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Of the 65, 50 will be selected after the day’s exercise for the FIFA referees seminar that is scheduled to run for five days from Monday 12 November to Friday 16 November which is expected to impart and refresh the officials’ knowledge on handling matches.
According to the FKF officer heading the technical committee Mr. Elly Mukolwe, the exercise will be headed by South African instructor Carlos Henrique and Malawian Mark Mzenga together with Kenyan officials; Gladys Waweru, Juma Kalume, Isaac Mwangi, Immaculate Onyango, Caleb Amwayi, George Nyamwanda, John Ngururi and Evelyne Awori.
-We have a shortlist of 65 referees from which we will drop 15 after the pre seminar basing on their knowledge on the technical aspects of the game. The remaining 50 will take part in a five day seminar to refresh their existing know how and impart new skills at the same time.
-The seminar will be conducted by ten instructors; Henrique from South Africa and Mzenga from Malawi together with eight others from Kenya, he told futaa.com.
The officials should carry along their original identification documents, birth certificates, referees certificates, academic certificates and updated curriculum vitae.
