The Football Kenya Federation has lauded efforts by the Nakuru Police officers and their Administration counterparts for acting swiftly to contain the situation at Afraha over the weekend after rowdy fans caused a breach to peace.
In a communiqué to media houses, the federation has condemned the action by AFC fans to turn violent after their loss to Western Stima stating that the behavior would not be condoned.
- It is unfortunate that Hooligans guised as fans stoned the officers escorting the team bus out of the stadium causing injuries to the brave officers.
- It is good to note that the officers had beefed up security during the game upon recommendations from FKF who had classified the match as high risk, read the statement in part.
FKF also acknowledged the move by Bondeni O.C.S Joseph Wambua and his officers to have in custody four of the hooligans and asked them to make more arrests when such cases emerge.
Western Stima beat Ingwe 2-1 courtesy of a Wesley Kemboi double causing an outrage from fans over the cause of this dip in form.
