Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has followed up on its recently launched former footballers’ welfare fund, with key mentions for some of Kenya’s living legends.
Legendary Joe Kadenge has been appointed Kenya’s football Ambassador while three other legends; Allan Thigo, Ali Mbarak and Noah Wanyama have been named as FKF honoraries.
Honored by recognition in the region
The mentions have been confirmed in a letter signed by FKF Chair Sam Nyamweya dated Wednesday 18 April 2012.
-Joe Kadenge has been honored by recognition in the region and beyond and has received various other accolades in the continent, said part of the release
-He was also the only player from this region to be invited by FIFA to grace the opening ceremony of the 2010 World Cup finals held in South Africa
Travelling regularly with the National teams
-He has been a role model to all footballers and his children have emulated his football prowess. He will be travelling regularly with the National teams for motivation in his role as football Ambassador, it concluded
A week ago, former national team great visited FKF to hand the Chair a trophy they won after beating their Tanzania counterparts, after which FKF opted to for a Welfare Fund to cater for their interests.
