FKF name Mariga's Replacement

Patrick Osiako
Inter Milan’s midfielder McDonald Mariga opted out of the Harambee Stars squad that is set to play Bafana Bafana in a build up match on Tuesday 16 October 2012 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Mariga resumed training recently after a long injury lay off and thereby decided to remain in Italy and continue with his training programme.

Osiako

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has moved fast in replacing Mariga for the friendly match by calling up former Tusker midfielder Patrick Armando Osiako to the squad.

Confirming the news to futaa.com, FKF CEO Lordvick Aduda said they had sent an invite to the creative midfielder, who plies his trade for Israel top-tier side Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

-Mariga said he will not be available for the match and we’ve therefore decided to give the chance to Osiako. We’ve sent him the invite and we hope he’ll honour it, Aduda said.

Osiako signed a two-year deal with Hapoel this August after his contract with Romanian top-tier side Petrolul Ploiesti came to a close at the end of June 2012.
