Muhoroni Youth recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over visiting Kakamega Homeboyz, in a FKF President’s Cup pre-quarter match, on Sunday 2 September, at Muhoroni Grounds.
The Division One side took an early lead in the sixth minute, after Ronald Rooney Omino’s shot was deflected off defender Ibrahim Ateng’ and found its way into the net.
Bullet headers
In the 25th minute, Muhoroni leveled the score when Stephen Wakhanya met Ateng’s cross and powered a bullet header past Homeboyz keeper.
Collins Neto propelled the hosts to the next round, heading home Hamisi Mwinyi’s well taken corner-kick at the hour mark.
Muhoroni will now battle it out with holders, Gor Mahia, in the quarter final.
