Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao Garcia landed the Castrol EDGE

Superb display
Falcao who was ranked 14th in the last ranking in May 2012 just before Europe’s major leagues closed their seasons.
According to castrolfootball.com Falcao was in superb form in La Liga in August, with his hat-trick performance against Athletic Bilbao on the opening weekend of the 2012/13 season earning him 2126 points - enough to win August’s Castrol EDGE Strongest Performance of the Month.
In that game, on August 27th at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, the 26-year-old produced a superb display of attacking football, netting three goals and mustering a total of nine shots (including blocked shots).
Goal-scoring chances
Indeed, in August, no other player in the top five European leagues could better that haul of nine attempts. As well as peppering the Bilbao goal with shots himself, the striker also created two additional goal-scoring chances for team-mates.
The latest list sees the top three places reamin unchanged. Lionel Messi of Barcelona still leads Bayern Munich’s Mario Gomez and former Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie now at Manchester United.
Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain, Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben are fourth and fifth respectively just ahead of Real Madrid pair of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo who are sixth and seventh in that order.
Next ranking
Just ahead of Falcao at eighth is Robert Lewandoski of Borussia Dortmund. Barclona defender Carles Puyol is ranked tenth.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is ranked 17th, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero 33rd and his team mate Samir Nasri 38th.
