Experienced youth coach minds not a club role

Vince Ombiji

Former Under20 and experienced youth coach Vince Ombiji has revealed that he would not mind taking over at a Tusker Premier League club in the future.

Speaking to futaa.com, the coach however named some favorite options in the league and they are the league’s table toppers.

-I would be careful if such an opportunity arose but if I took over a role then it would be either among the current top teams on the standing.

The coach was however to clarify that he is not being discriminatory of any team and would love to see Kenya embrace a more competitive spirit heading forward.

The current top teams in the league include Tusker FC, Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka FC and Ulinzi Stars.

Ombiji led the Kenya Under20 team to a bronze medal at the CECAFA U20 Championship in August 2010 before leading the Kenya U23 to a crashing defeat against an experienced Eritrea side in April 2011.

He[Ombiji] most recently led the successful Special Olympics Squad to the Unity Peace Cup tournament in South Africa where they finished fourth.
