Ex-Gor forward scores for Canadian side

Former Gor Mahia forward Habil Otieno was on the mark as his Canadian side, Estrella de Chille beat Vancouver Olympics 3-1 in a Vancouver Metro Soccer League match played on Saturday 8 September 2012.

Sofapaka

Former Sofapaka midfielder Eric Ray Odhiambo and Noah Acosta exchanged neat passes from the midfield before the latter set up Habil who beat Vancouver Olympics custodian Amraj Lally with a low shot at the third minute.

Ashif Ismail equalised for Olympics at the 35th minute but Estrella de Chille re-took the lead three minutes later, Eric Ray Odhiambo scoring with a low shot from the edge of the box.

Ray put the game beyond Olympics reach, scoring with a right-foot volley  from inside the box in the 80th minute.

League

This was Estralla de Chille’s first game in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League since earning promotion.

According to Wikipedia, the league is an amateur league, and does not compete against or promote teams to the Canadian Soccer Pyramid (the structure of the league system).
