Ex Arsenal man eyeing French presidency

Petit

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit is looking to ascend to the topmost position in French football, the presidency of the French Football Federation (FFF) in 2016.

World Cup winner

Petit, a FIFA World Cup winner with Les Bleus in 1998, is currently a TV football commentator and speaking to sports magazine l’equipe, he revealed that he is interested in vying for the role and had his family’s support.

Family support

-My relatives and friends say I have the abilities to hold this position. I am interested about all the angles of football and I have come to a simple conclusion: there are more and more troubles in the business of football, he said.

Noel Le Graet is the current office holder and will be vying for another four year term in December. If he wins as is widely expected, he could face off with the former France international in four years.
