English Premiership side, Liverpool have taken a hard line against their want-away star, Luis Suarez and have warned that he is not going anywhere.
The Merseyside club have issued a brief statement on their website, making clear that Luis Suarez has not asked to leave and is not for sale.
The Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid target indicated this week in interviews given to Uruguayan media that he will be seeking an exit from Anfield in the summer, amid his perception of treatment from the British media.
However, his club responded with a brief statement released on Friday.
- Luis Suarez is not for sale. Neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to Liverpool Football Club, reads the club’s official comment.
- The club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract. We will not be making any further comment at this stage.
Suarez is serving a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea defender, Branislav Ivanovic, and will miss the first seven games of the new season.
