England’s squad set to play Moldova has received another setback after Sunderland winger Adam Johnson pulled out of the match.

The Football Association has according to sportinglife.com confirmed that the player underwent a scan on his thigh and has consequently withdrawn from the squad.

The former Manchester City player has already returned to his club for treatment and joins three others namely Wayne Rooney, Andy Carroll and Ashley Cole on the sidelines.

 England is set to play the Moldova on Friday 7 September 2012 away at the in their opening World Cup qualifier match.
