End of the road for former KPL side

Mathare Youth
A one time participant in the Kenyan Premier League has died a slow and painful death.

It has been confirmed that former KPL side Mathare Youth has been disbanded due to financial constraints.

Having struggled to make ends meet for the most part of this season, the club has decided to throw in the towel and written a letter to that effect.

Sponsors pulled out

According to sources within the Football Kenya Federation, the club has confirmed its inability to continue taking part in the 2012 season.

According to the source, their sponsors, who are the Mathare Youth Sports Association have pulled out and decided to focus on other projects, leaving them high and dry.

Youth, at their time of disbandment were bottom of the 20 team FKF Division one Zone A division.

2008 KPL

Youth took part in the 2008 Kenyan Premier League, where they finished second bottom.
