Egypt to face Georgia without Al Ahly players

Egypt will take on Georgia in an international friendly at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi on Wednesday 14 November 2012 without Al Ahly players.

According to Ahram Online, the team’s football director, Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, had asked national Coach Bob Bradley to not include the Al Ahly players for the friendly to avoid injury ahead of their second leg CAF Champions League final with Tunisia’s Esperance on 16-18 November 2012.

Al Ahly and Esperance face off on 3/4 November during the first leg of the ultimate African club competition.

Al Ahly booked the final with a 4-3 aggregate win over Nigeria’s Sunshine Stars in the semis while Al Ahly needed a lone goal to go past four-time winners TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
