Nigeria’s Super Eagles is targeting to add firepower to their striking just days after Head Coach Stephen Keshi revealed that he has plans for Newcastle’s Shola Ameobi.
However, Keshi has his eyes not only on the AFCON tournament but also on the 2014 world cup in Brazil. This time, he has hinted at recalling experienced strikers Obafemi Martins and Kalu Uche for the assignments.
-We only have one friendly before the Nations Cup and that is against Venezuela. And like I have always said, every Nigerian player will get a chance in my team, Keshi told mtnfootball.com.
-Hopefully, I would give some players a chance. There are a lot of them I have not seen, the likes of Martins, Kalu and a lot more, he admitted.
The Super Eagles will host Kenya’s Harambee Stars in a World cup qualifier on 22nd March 2013 in Lagos. Nigeria qualifies for the 2013 AFCON tournament in South Africa after seeing off Liberia 6-1 over the weekend.
