Twice hosts Sofapaka failed to hold on to a lead to
eventually settle for a 2-2 draw with visiting Sony Sugar in a Tusker Premier League
tie played on Saturday 27 October 2012 at the City Stadium.
Outpaced
The 1400hrs local time kick off saw Joseph Nyaga complete a cross from John Baraza to send Sofapaka 1-0 up after just five minutes.
Sony was to however draw level with a minute to the break through former Congi United player Ismail Dunga.
He controlled a Wylciffe Nyagechi cross with his chest, outpaced Edgar Ochieng before firing past David Okello in goal with a low shot to keep the score at 1-1 at the break.
Close range
12 minutes in to the next half, Sofapaka returned to scoring when Humphrey Mieno rose up high to head in a cross from George Owino.
The lead did not last as long as after the first goal as just eight minutes after, Sony were level once again after Dunga leveled from close range.
Thereafter the game rolled on to close with the game tied at 2-2.
From the results, Sofapaka remains fourth with 45 points as Sony improved upward by a position to settle at ninth with 35 points. both have played 28 games.
