Dropped points for Shikanda's Azam

Azam missed the chance to go top of the Vodacom Tanzanian Premier League after being held to a 1-1 draw by Ruvu Shooting Wednesday 24 October 2012.

With champions Simba SC having played two games more and only holding a two point lead, Azam were odds on favourites to take the three points and move to the top of the standings.

However, that did not work out, as Ruvu gave out a strong performance to deny Azam the win.

Ali Mwinyi scored for Ruvu with Jabir Aziz replying for Azam.

The match was played at the Chamazi Stadium in Mbagala where Kenyan defender Ibrahim Shikanda took part.

Azam now have 18 points, and are in second place in the standings, just a point behind Simba, though they have played a game less than their opponents.
