Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua proprietors have revealed
that the Ivorian is unlikely to arrive in time, adequate enough to prepare for
the 14 July clash, therefore delaying his maiden match.
Drogba who was expected to arrive on July 13 July or earlier is likely to miss out after flight details on his arrival in China were revealed.
Flight delay
The 34-year-old Ivory Coast striker had been expected to debut against rivals Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League on 14 July 2012.
Club owner Zhu Jun confirmed to Oriental Sports Daily, that the former Chelsea man will have to miss the clash due to inadequate preparation time for the game.
Shenhua's next encounter will be an away game to Yakubu Aiyegbeni's new club Guangzhou Fuli on 22 July 2012.
