Many a time referees and their assistants are subjected to blame especially from a losing side for their fate but such was not the case after the Sunday 30 September encounter pitting Muhoroni Youth against AFC Leopards at the Afraha Stadium.
Good charge
The reigning Tusker Premier League (TPL) referee of the year Mr. Nasur Ibrahim Doka was in charge of the encounter and according to the losing side, Muhoroni Youth’s coach Mr. Alfred Imonje, Doka took good charge of the game.
Imonje saw his boys lose 1 – 2 to the Leopards but of all the positives he picked from the encounter, he lauded Doka for a fair 90 minutes labelling the top referee’s performance a precursor to better days ahead.
Balanced
-We lost the game but I had no questions or complaints at all about the referee and his assistants. The man at the centre was balanced in his decisions – it was one of those days you see an error free afternoon.
-The officiating was very fair and is good for our future as a football playing nation, he told futaa.com.
Referees’ weekend
Imonje’s sentiments come just days after Karuturi Sport coach Michael Nam praised referee Sylvester Kirwa for an outstanding performance in the Karuturi versus Chemelil Sugar game.
Damaris Kimani and her team at the Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday 30 September also did a great job in the Western Stima against KCB game, eventually praying together with both teams after the final whistle.
