Division One game abandoned at the Coast

A Division One Zone A tie between Coast Stars and Kariobangi Sharks played on Saturday 13 October 2012 was abandoned on the stroke of time after Sharks players assaulted centre referee Rico Chai.

Rebound

The two teams were tied at 1-1 at the time of abandonment.

Kariobangi Sharks were first to score in the 14th minute through a rebound by Steven Obiero.

Coast United were awarded a penalty four minutes to time after a defender handled the ball inside the box.  Evans Makacha stepped up to level the score.

Surrounded

The  madness started in the 90th minute when Coast United were awarded yet another penalty at the same time Sharks goalkeeper Caleb Owino was red carded for rough tackle on Salim Ochola.

It is at this point that Sharks players surrounded centre referee Rico Chai, who fearing for his security called off the match.
