Div. One side vows not to honour match

Aref

On Saturday 6 October, Nairobi side Kibera Celtic FC was supposed to take on Mombasa side Admiral FC in the two sides’ FKF Division One Zone A encounter at the Chuda Day grounds but the Nairobi side failed to show up.

Unnecessary

Talk in the second tier circles has been that the match will be rescheduled but Admiral will hear none of it. The Admiral FC technical director Mr. Aref Baghazal says Celtic will be accorded an unnecessary favour if the match was to be rescheduled.

If that comes to fruition Baghazal, speaking to futaa.com, said his team would not honour the game unless Kibera Celtic is prepared to reimburse all the costs incurred in paying the players’ allowances for the week in preparation and booking of the venue, totalling to about Kshs. 80,000.

-We will not honour the game if they reschedule it.

Didn’t leave Nairobi

-Celtic failed to show up for the game and we were awarded the points, there is no point in overturning that because we are aware that Celtic did not have intention to honour the game in the first place; they didn’t even leave Nairobi.

-Moreover, teams from Nairobi travel to this side on Thursday, not Friday as they claim so we say that is a big lie and the only way we will honour the game is if our expenditure ahead of the aborted game is reimbursed fully, to a tune of about 80,000, he said.
