Recently, top Tusker Premier League (TPL) referees have been handling the FKF Division One league matches with the aim of reducing officiating complaints among clubs, a move that has so far been successful, if what the concerned teams say is anything to go by.
Impartiality
Eastern Zone side Ligi Ndogo has also called on their match against Bidco United set to be played in Thika on Sunday 14 October to be officiated by a referee from another region, preferably Mombasa as an assurance of impartiality.
According to the team’s Coach Mike Azeu Kamure, it is within the federation’s capability to bring in officials from the Coast considering recently referees from Nairobi were selected to handle Bidco United’s matches in Mombasa.
Preferably Mombasa
-We want a referee from far – preferably from Mombasa to come and officiate in our game with Bidco United. We know what will happen if this does not happen and the only fairness is that we get a referee from outside this region.
-Recently FKF took referees from Nairobi to officiate in Bidco’s games at the Coast against Bandari and Sparki, it is my feeling that if referees could go to Mombasa then we can also get one from Mombasa to handle this game, he told futaa.com.
Bidco is placed second on the log with 61 points. Ligi Ndogo is further down seventh with 50 points.
