Despite shock, dockers backed for title

Shadrack Ateka
Bandari are still favourites to claim the FKF Division One Zone A title, according to Gatundu Stars Coach Shadrack Ateka.

The dockers have a 13 point lead atop the division, set up by a mammoth 22 match unbeaten run which came to a crashing end at Gatundu on Sunday 16 September 2012.

Struggling to avoid relegation, Ateka's men pulled the rabbit out of the hat, but despite it all, he still acknowledges that the dockers are a good outfit.

Still on top

- We played very well, better than expected and I think (they) Bandari did not expect such a performance really.

- That said, they are a very good team. They have the resources and the players to compete at a high level without too much pain.

- With the games left, they have a good chance to get to the Premier League and I still think that they are favourites,he told Futaa.com.

Fight

Gatundu occupy the first relegation place from the top and will need more of Sunday's performances to guarantee safety.
